Net Impact wants your old gadgets!

Let's face it-we all have e-junk cluttering our closets.  But did you know that everyday electronics, like cell phones, computers and televisions contain hazardous materials like lead, cadmium, mercury, chromium, and polyvinyl chloride - to name just a few? So, it's dangerous to simply throw your unwanted items in the trash as these toxic chemicals may leach into drinking water and soil.  Despite this fact, Americans throw away more than 350,000 cell phones and 130,000 computers daily, making electronic waste the fastest growing part of the U.S. use garbage stream.

There's an answer to this conundrum - help Net Impact while making an impact of your own! Donate your used electronics to our chapter at www.netimpactumass.gazelle.com.  All electronics that we collect will be either reused (extending the lives of valuable products and keeping them out of the waste stream for a longer period of time) or recycled (reducing pollution that would be generated while manufacturing a new product and the need to extract valuable and limited virgin resources).

The process is simple and good for you and the environment.  You can help us by simply cleaning out your closet-do some good and make some space!
