The Isenberg Online Part-Time MBA

The UMass Amherst Isenberg School of Management's Online Part-Time MBA program is ideal for current or aspiring military officers and those transitioning into careers outside of the military.

Accredited nationally and internationally by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the 11 core course, 37 credit, part-time Online Part-Time MBA program is about taking the courses essential to a solid education and professional success. We've developed a high quality online MBA program for military professionals balancing multiple demands on their time.

The Online Campus

One very unique and flexible option of this program is to complete your degree entirely online from anywhere in the world, there are no on-campus visits required, you never have to set foot in a traditional classroom.

The Part-Time MBA core curriculum is offered online every Spring, Summer, and Fall semester with the largest number of electives offered during the January Winter session.  You also have the option of taking "live" traditional style classes at one of our three Massachusetts campus locations: Holyoke, Shrewsbury and Pittsfield.

Online courses are taught asynchronously, meaning you do not need to be at your computer at any particular time of the day. You may take courses live or online for the life of the program, whatever suits your schedule.

Part-Time MBA courses are taught by the same Isenberg faculty and shares the same core curriculum as our full-time MBA program. The 37 credit program is typically completed within 24-30 months while working full-time.

Program Prerequisites

All students entering the program must have a minimum of a four year undergraduate degree. For students who do not have an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or have not taken courses in accounting, management, economics and finance at the undergraduate level, there is an alternative way to fulfill the prerequisite to the Part-Time MBA program. Faculty at the Isenberg School of Management have developed an efficient way for students to complete the prerequisite requirements with a course entitled "Foundations of Business." ...more

When can I Start?

You can being taking classes NOW.  We allow students to take up to 6 credits (typically 2 courses) as a "non-degree" student (not yet formally accepted in the program) before applying.  This approach allows you the opportunity to "try out" a course or two before committing.  Upon acceptance in the program, those courses you took as a non-degree student will automatically transfer to your graduate records as long as 1) they were taken within 3 years of acceptance 2) you received a grade of B or better.
