What We Look For:

Isenberg MBAs bring diverse backgrounds and professional interests to the program. We look for strong academic abilities and meaningful professional experience (3+ years post undergraduate, full-time work experience is preferred). Additionally, we strive to build a class of students who demonstrate leadership potential, strong collaborative relationships, and a commitment to professional growth.

When to Apply:

Round 1: December 1

Round 2: February 1

Round 3: April 1*

 

*Beyond the April 1st deadline, applications will be reviewed on a space available basis.


We strongly encourage you to apply as early as possible to facilitate your consideration for merit based financial aid, such as our assistantship awards.

International Applicants: We advise you to apply for the February 1st deadline if you need to apply for a student visa. We also advise you visit the Graduate School site for prospective international students.

Dual Degree Applicants: If applying for one of our dual degree programs, please be aware of the deadlines below.

How to Apply:

The application process begins with registration into our system so that you can apply online via the general UMass Graduate School Application Process.  The UMass Graduate School will send your completed online application to the MBA Admissions Committee for individual review.


Your complete application must include:


  • UMass Graduate School Application
  • Personal statement - Your personal essay should address: your specific interest in studying business, your career plan, and how earning an Isenberg MBA will help you achieve your goals.
  • Official GMAT or GRE score - Students are waived of the GMAT/GRE with a PhD, JD, MD, ECFMG or Fifth Pathway Certificate; or have completed a Master's Degree with a GPA of 3.75 or higher and 8 years of work history.
  • Two letters of recommendation - We prefer one professional and one academic.
  • Transcripts - Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, undergraduate and graduate, where six or more credits were taken or required. Electronic transcripts can be sent to gradadm@grad.umass.edu by the originating school or mailed to the address below (transcripts from foreign institutions need to be mailed).
  • Resume/CV
  • Application fee of $75*
  • For international applicants only - Minimum score of 600 (250 computer-based score, 100 internet base score) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
