Introduction to Law: Management 260
The flagship or foundational course, Introduction to Law, is required for all sophomores within the Isenberg School. Demand for this class increases apace with enrollment figures. For fall 2005, there were 7 sections of Introduction to Law offered. Relative to the large lecture hall style courses, these sections with no more than 40 students each are meant to foster discussion. Approximately 275 seats were available to students this semester. In spring 2005, approximately 249 students completed the course.
Upper Level Courses
Three advanced law courses are also offered, each are among a list of alternatives to fulfill a requirement within the accounting major. For example, Contracts in Business Environments ("Contracts") which is offered each fall semester has approximately 70 enrollees. The overwhelming majority of students who attend Contracts are accounting majors. In the spring, Management 362 (Law of Enterprise Organization) is attended by approximately 61 students and Management 583 (Law for Accountants) satisfies a requirement for the accounting major and demand has increased so much that an additional section has been planned for the fall semester of 2006. An additional course, Business and its Environment has historically been taught by faculty with Juris Doctorates and presently, one committee member teaches a section of approximately 40 students in the spring semester.
