Preparing Managerial Talent for a New State Industry

Laurie Salame, a lecturer in Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) at Isenberg, was a panelist on August 8 at a Western Massachusetts Region Educational Forum devoted to employment and economic prospects for the future gaming industry in Massachusetts. In the panel discussion, Creating Career Opportunities in Gaming for Massachusetts Residents, Salame underscored the value of the HTM program, which offers five separate areas of concentration, including casino management. Industry-specific training combined with general management skills will position graduates of the HTM program--most of them from Massachusetts--for leadership roles in the state's new gaming industry, she emphasized.
