Isenberg Professor Honored by International Academy

Albert Assaf, an assistant professor in the Isenberg School of Management's Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM), has been named an Emerging Scholar of Distinction by the International Academy for the Study of Tourism. The award recognizes Dr. Assaf's substantial contributions to tourism research and scholarship since gaining his Ph.D. The Isenberg professor's wide-ranging research focuses on efficiency and performance modeling in the tourism, services, and transportation industries.
In June, Assaf and two other award recipients will present papers and discuss their research as honorees at the Academy's annual conference in Olhao, Portugal. In 2010-11, Assaf earned Isenberg's own Dean's Research Excellence Award for his many publications in top-tier journals.
The International Academy for the Study of Tourism is the world's premier academic association devoted to the subject. The Academy furthers scholarly research and professional investigation of tourism as well as its diffusion and application.
