HTM Online provides students with a great deal of interaction with the faculty through e-mail, chat rooms, telephone, fax, and regular mail. Courses include reading in leading industry textbooks, study manuals, exercises, simulations, online discussions, live chats, videos, and other appropriate learning activities.

Academic Calendar / Course Length

Online courses will vary in length. The nature of the course material will strongly influence the course design. Courses will range in length from four to thirteen weeks, although most of the HTM online courses last 8 weeks.

Accreditation

As part of the University of Massachusetts the online Bachelor's of Science degree is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Membership to the association indicates that the institution has been carefully evaluated and found to meet standards agreed upon by qualified educators.

Our Faculty

Faculty members who teach the HTM online courses are the same highly credentialed, full-time faculty members as those teaching courses on campus. Most faculty members hold doctorates or terminal degrees in their respective fields. UMass prides itself on an 18-to-1 student-faculty ratio for most classes. Our Students

HTM has over 5,000 alumni and a current enrollment of approximately 500 undergraduate and 35 graduate students. Our size, diversity of offerings, alumni relations, scholarship activities, faculty, students, and cooperative activities with the hospitality industry have helped to make us a leader in hospitality education.
