Tuition Fees/Admissions for HTM Online

To apply for admission to the part-time, online Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management Bachelor of Science degree program, download the application form and submit it by the following application deadline:

Fall admittance - Deadline May 15

Admissions Requirements

  • A minimum of 27 completed semester credits of college coursework. (Note that students who have not completed 27 college credits, while not yet eligible to apply for the Online BS program, are welcome to take online courses as non-matriculated students.)
  • Please note: Students who have already completed a bachelor's degree at another school and would like to complete a second bachelor's degree are not eligible for this program.
  • A cumulative grade point average above 2.0.
  • TOEFL score of at least 550 (Computer-based TOEFL 213) if English is not your native language.

    Note that meeting these basic requirements does not guarantee admission.

    Complete applications must include ALL of the following items:

    *Completed application
    *Application fee ($50)
    *Official transcripts from ALL previously attended secondary education institutions.
    Note: If you've earned less than 27 credits at another college or university you must also include an official high school transcript.
    *Resume (recommended)
    *Essay
    *TOEFL exam scores if English is not your native language.


    Incomplete applications will not be processed.

    Note: Once accepted, you must register for at least one course in the following semester. Failure to do so will result in your automatic dismissal from the university.


Tuition and Fees

Tuition for HTM Online undergraduate courses offered through the University of Massachusetts Amherst Continuing and Professional Education vary per credit hour. HTM online course pricing can be found on the Continuing and Professional Education site.  Most courses are 3 credits. Additional fees to obtain special services are applied to selected courses. These include, but are not limited to, media, registration, and materials fees, as well as other optional fees.

The total cost of the program is dependent on how many transfer credits you receive and how many courses you need to take to complete your degree requirement.
