External Scholarships

This is a list of external scholarships available that may be useful in helping HTM students finance their education.

REVIEW THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN FOR EACH SCHOLARSHIP CAREFULLY AS SOME ORGANIZATIONS MAY REQUIRE NOMINATIONS OR LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION FROM THE DEAN, DEPARTMENT HEAD, FACULTY, AND/OR EMPLOYER.

Information for Students About External Scholarships

External scholarships require individual applications, have individual requirements, and are awarded by outside sponsors.

Most applications are available online, and deadlines vary. Award notification will come directly from the foundations. Check websites for complete details. The competitive pool may be larger, depending on the type of scholarship.

Scholarship requirements vary, so it’s important to read the applications carefully. Some require faculty and/or work/internship references and some may require an essay.

Make sure to allow enough time to meet the deadlines. It is advisable to complete the application well before the deadline whenever possible.

Students receiving financial aid should check with the Financial Aid Office to determine how a scholarship would affect their aid package.
