A Note from Professor and Department Head, Haemoon Oh

The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) has been historically regarded as one of the oldest and finest hospitality programs in the world.  Its program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration.  Every year elite students join us from all over the world to advance their knowledge and build their exciting career opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Our program is housed in the renowned Isenberg School of Management, providing students with ample opportunities to interact with the first-class peers and faculty.

HTM graduates occupy leading positions in industry around the globe. Each year, returning recruiters rate us as one of the most favorable hospitality programs to recruit future industry leaders from.  Successful graduates are countless, and many of them regularly return to our classroom to share their real-world experience with our students.

Our cutting-edge, innovative curriculum offers a fine balance between academic rigor and practical application. It provides a broad coverage of multi-dimensional hospitality education including hotel and resort management, restaurant, foodservice, and beverage management, tourism planning, event and club management, and casino management, just to name a few. Students receive world-changing education through our unique integrative, capstone, and leadership courses for their upcoming industry career.

We offer students a variety of opportunities to get involved in student as well as department activities.  We have six student clubs whose members are very active at the national level.  The department hosts many events such as the HTM Career Day, New Student Welcome Reception, and Annual Alumni Receptions, building a sense of pride among our students and alumni.  These opportunities allow our students to practice while learning.

We strive to provide our students with every possible opportunity to be successful in their life and career.  Students may choose to study away at one of our exchange partner schools either in the US or internationally such as in Switzerland, England, and Australia.  Every year a number of students join our summer study abroad program to experience and build their global career mind.  We will continue to develop more exciting international opportunities for our students.

We offer both BS and Ph.D. degree programs. In particular, Ph.D. students maximize quality of their training through the highly integrated Isenberg School of Management curriculum.  In addition, we offer an online bachelor's degree program and two online certificate programs (event management and casino management) to the needs of people who want to both continue their education and advance their current industry career.
