A golf tournament in memory of Hospitality & Tourism Management student James "Jake" Hoffman who died tragically in an apartment fire in January 2013. Proceeds from the tournament will go towards the Jake Hoffman Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit students with aspirations to complete a degree in hospitality and tourism management.

James E. Jake Hoffman, 21, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, in Amherst, after being caught in a house fire. He was the beloved son of David M. and Anne (Morrissey) Hoffman of Stoughton. Born in Stoughton, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 2009. He was a senior at UMass Amherst at the time of his death. While at UMass, he was a member of MESIBA Team, the Club Managers Association of America and was the vice president of the Jewish Student Union. An avid sports fan, he was a kind and caring man who in his free time, enjoyed fundraising for different foundations and donating his time to anyone who needed it.
