New Isenberg Webinar on the Impact of Corporate Takeovers
January 25, 2012
A research team led by co-principal investigators Ben Branch a professor of finance and Anurag Sharma a professor of
strategic management at the Isenberg School of Management, University of
Massachusetts Amherst, will present a webinar on February 1 at 1:00 p.m. ET to
review findings and field questions about the team's just-released paper, Mergers and Acquisitions and the Universal Investor. The paper is the first to
analyze the impact of corporate takeover announcements on shareholders and
bondholders of peer/competitor companies of both acquiring and target
companies.
In addition to the co-PIs Professors Branch and Sharma, the Isenberg research team includes three Ph.D. candidates, Chetan Chawla, Ning Pu, and Liping Qiu. A grant from the IRRC Institute in New York City supported the research. The nonprofit institute's mission to foster thought leadership at the intersection of corporate responsibility and the informational needs of investors includes support for capital markets research.
