Best Paper Award to Isenberg Researchers

Senay Solak, an assistant professor of Operations Management, and Armagan Bayram, a Ph.D. candidate in Management Science, will receive honors for the Best Paper in Operations Management at the 2012 International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management on July 3-6 in Istanbul. The conference is co-sponsored by the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS).
The paper, "Dynamic and Stochastic Knapsack-Type Models for Foreclosed Housing Acquisition and Redevelopment," identifies policies to improve the societal response to America's foreclosure problem. The paper focuses on foreclosure-related investment decisions by community based organizations and determines optimal investment strategies that maximize social returns.
