Gong Zhan

Bio

Gong (Mike) Zhan is a second-year PhD student in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

His research interest is in empirical asset pricing. Specifically, his current research is focused on the study and development of measuring market timing skills of hedge funds/mutual funds managers using a non/semi-parametric method. He is also working on the issue of portfolio performance measurement.

Gong received his bachelor degree in in Math and Applied Math from School of Mathematic Sciences at Beijing University, China in 2003 and his Master of Science degree in finance from ICMA Centre Business School, Reading Univ. UK with a concentration in risk management in 2004.

Gong is also serving his community as the president of Chinese Scholars and Students Association at Umass Amherst.
