Welcome to the MBA Career Management Toolkit. This page will be continually updated to provide you with tips and tools to successfully manage your career planning.  Each section is geared to accommodate the curriculum of the Isenberg Professional Seminar in Career Management course.

  • Informational Interviewing
    Informational interviewing is an important part of the career management process, whether or not you are currently employed. Use informational interviews to learn more about potential careers and/or companies, and most importantly, use them to build your professional network.

    Developing a quick, 30 second elevator speech will help you quickly outline your past, present, and future goals during interviews, career fairs, networking events, and informational interviews. Having this tool readily available in your memory will boost your comfort level in these situations and get your point across quickly and confidently.

    The cover letter is an important piece of your job search strategy and should be used as a marketing tool to highlight your strengths, experience, and alignment with a job description. There are three main types of cover letters: applications, prospecting, and networking.
