Two Publishing Awards to Hospitality & Tourism Management Professor
December 17, 2012
Albert Assaf, an assistant professor in Isenberg's Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM), is the recipient of two awards for outstanding journal articles. His paper, "The Operational Performance of UK Airlines - 2002-2007," which appeared in the Journal of Economic Studies, was an Outstanding Paper Award Winner at the 2012 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. The network is associated with Emerald Publishing Group, a scholarly publisher of academic journals in management, education, health care, and other fields.
Dr. Assaf and two coauthors also received honors for their paper, "Efficiency Determinants in Retail Stores: a Bayesian Framework," which appeared in OMEGA: The International Journal of Management Science. The article was deemed best retail paper in 2011 by a Spanish researcher--both by AEMARK (the Spanish Marketing Academy) and by ASEDAS, a Spanish supermarket association.
