Operations Management Class Notes
Jim O'Brien ‘89 has worked for John Hancock in Boston since he graduated and is currently serving as the vice president of information technology for Hancock’s Long Term Care SBU. He and his wife, Kym ’90, have three children.
Maria Mallon ‘89 began her career with Frito-Lay in Dayville, Conn., but quickly changed professions. She is currently in her thirteenth year with Unilever Foods, working as quality improvement/innovation manager for Frito Lay’s Meal Solutions Group in Englewood Cliffs, N.J. She lives in Bridgewater, N.J.
Deborah (Mullen) Pavis ‘89 recently left her position as regional sales manager at Boston Retail Products, where she was employed since 1990. In 1999, she completed her MBA at Northeastern University. Since January, Deborah has been devoting her time to concentrating on her family and working only part-time. She and her husband, John, live in Bethlehem, Pa. with their two boys: Henry (3 1/2) and Charlie (8 months).
Mike Lunardelli ‘90 has served as the director of apparel for Reebok Japan, based in Tokyo, and is currently senior product manager of Athletic Specialty Apparel for Reebok International, based in Canton. Mike lives in Watertown.
Judy (Wheeler) Foley ‘91 recently left her job as branch operations manager and sales manager for GE Capital Modular Space to spend time at home with her two children, Owen (4 1/2) and Sarah (14 months). She and her husband, Mike, live in Lynnfield.
Scott Kay, '91 is currently a program manager for IBM Business Consulting Services, specializing in IT strategy and SAP solutions for consumer products companies. He lives in Marblehead with his wife, Kira, and their two-year-old daughter, Amelia. In his spare time, Scott enjoys sailboat racing as crew.
Beth (Patterson) McFadyen ’91 is currently enjoying life at home with three children and is expecting a fourth. She completed her Masters of Science in Training and Development in 1995 and enjoyed many years of professional work consulting in the high technology field, working for Lotus Development Corporation and Cambridge Technology Partners. She lives in Tewksbury with her husband, Jay and can be reached at bmcfadyen@comcast.net.
Mike Chludzinski ’92 works at Philips Medical Systems in Andover as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He plans to marry in June 2005.
Andy Girard ‘92 received his MBA from Boston University in 1998 and is a manufacturing manager at Boston Scientific Corporation. He and his wife, Jodi (Pollack) ‘93, live in Weston, Fla. with their two children, Alexa and Benjamin.
Tracie Longpre ‘92 received her MBA from UConn in 1998 and is currently the director of forecasting for Playtex Products, Inc. She lives in Westport, Conn.
Steven Peck ’92 has been employed with Halifax Investments, Inc. in southeastern Massachusetts for seven years and is currently its controller. He has been married for eleven years and has two daughters.
Wendy Wasick ’92 spent two years in Japan as a head English teacher. She recently finished studying Buddhism in Nepal, where she lives. Her next trek is to the Himalayas, where she will visit schools where she once volunteered and will hike Mt. Everest for a month. From there, she will head to India to become a volunteer teacher for Tibetan refugees, study yoga, and do some traveling. Her future plans include doing volunteer work in Mongolia and teaching in Taiwan. Wendy has not lived in the USA since 1992, but hopes to return in 2-3 years to study Chinese medicine. Dorothy (Bennett) Martino ‘93 was recently promoted to the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force. Dorothy and her husband are now stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where they live with their two children.
Ron Burns '94 lives in Newbury and works as director of analytic services for Security Source, a company specializing in retail loss prevention technologies. Ron and his wife, Kristin (Keefe) Burns ‘94, have a two-year-old daughter, Sarah, and are expecting a son.
Peter Lohri ’94 is director of corporate procurement and supplier diversity for TIAA-CREF. He and his wife, Cambria, and their daughter, Emma Grace (14 months), live in Charlotte, N.C.
Jaye Schneider '95 had worked at Fidelity Investments for seven years, with her most recent position being quality assurance manager. She recently left to stay at home with her 20-month-old daughter. She completed her MBA at Babson College in 2001 and lives with her husband and daughter in Belmont The couple was expecting a son in February.
Greg Tolmoff '95 is currently stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri flying the B-2 Stealth Bomber. He graduated from the UMass Air Force ROTC program and has flown T-37’s, T-38’s, A-10’s, and B-2’s. He and his wife, Pam (Rossi), ‘96, Nursing, have three boys (ages 3 and below).
Derek J Casillo ‘96 has been working in information technology since his graduation, a career path that led him into consulting for Bearing Point (formerly KPMG), and working in New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago, and London, among other locations. He is now a relationship manager at John Hancock Financial, handling contracts with their IT infrastructure outsourcing provider. He received his MBA from UMass Amherst in 2002. He and his wife live with their three-year-old daughter in Massachusetts.
Monica (Kuc) Ettamarna ‘96 spent four years at Playtex Apparel (a division of Sara Lee) in project management and marketing roles. After completing her MBA in 2002 at Cornell University, she joined GE’s Commercial Leadership Program and is currently the global communications marketing leader for GE Advanced Materials, Quartz. She and her husband, Jim ’97, live in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland.
Alison Legor ’96 worked as a project manager for several years before enjoying a two-year trip around the world. She is now looking for a job in Boston.
Todd Oetting, ‘96 has worked for EDS (Electronic Data Systems) in various consulting capacities since graduation. He lives in Grand Blanc, Mich. with his wife, Lisa, and eighteen-month-old twins, Rebecca and Robert.
Matt Burdulis ’97 started his career at Teradyne, Inc. in Boston. After five years with the company, he decided to pursue his MBA in Finance and Strategy at the Cox School of Business at SMU in Dallas, Texas. He is currently in his second year and will graduate in May.
Jim Ettamarna, ‘97 worked for GE Plastics for four years, serving global clients on a range of strategy, operations, and marketing issues. After earning his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2003, he joined McKinsey & Co. He and his wife, Monica (Kuc) ’96, live in Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland.
Michelle Miney '97 works for Bank of America in Charlotte, N.C. As a supply chain manager, she supports the Bank’s Marketing group with direct responsibility for the Rewards and Recognition programs, market research, strategic alliances, and sponsorships. She plans to marry in July in St. Lucia, and will continue to live in the Lake Norman, N.C. area.
Mike Moulton ‘97 started out with GE Plastics (now GE Advanced Materials) in the Information Management Leadership Program. He has lived in Pittsfield; Evansville, Ind.; Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands; and Charlotte, N.C., where he is currently a global IT manager. He was married in September.
Amy (Jones) Bergquist, ’98 received her MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia in May 2004. She is currently in the Leadership Development Program at United Technologies, where she works in the Corporate Supply Chain group. She lives with her husband, Kyle, in Hartford.
Ludmila (Koganer) Cole, ‘98 is director of proposal management and marketing at CIGNA Healthcare. She lives with her husband, John, in South Windsor, Conn., and was expecting their first child in February.
Ryan A. Duques, ‘98 is the publisher and co-founder of Shore Publishing Community Newspapers, which serves two-thirds of the Connecticut shoreline with 13 weekly newspapers. He lives with his wife, Erin (O’Brien) ’98, in Madison, Conn.
Matthew Sawa, '98, worked for Nabors Industries in various capacities in Houston, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and India. He recently left Nabors to pursue his MBA full time at Harvard Business School.
