Alumni Honors
The Isenberg School of Management and the University of Massachusetts Amherst have long honored Isenberg School alumni for their accomplishments.
- The School has presented its own Alumnus of the Year award each year since 1978.
- Isenberg School alumni have also been recipients of Honorary Doctoral Degrees.
- The Chancellor's Medal has been awarded to Isenberg School graduates as well as faculty members.

In April 2008, Isenberg HTM graduate Richard M. Kelleher '73 was one of six recipients honored at the State House with a Distinguished Alumnus Award. It was a well-deserved accolade for a graduate who each year honors the Isenberg School with two separate recognitions. The first, the Richard M. '73 & Nancy S. Kelleher '71 Award, recognizes one or more outstanding HTM students who are married or who are single parents. The second goes to an exceptional Isenberg School faculty or staff member. Kelleher, who is chairman and CEO of the Boston-based hotel management firm Pyramid Advisors, also serves the Isenberg School as a member of its Business Advisory Council and its HTM Advisory Board.
"In 1969 I arrived at UMass Amherst, a city kid with aspirations to play football and have fun. The harder I worked, the less fun I had, but the more academic success I found. The connection I have with UMass Amherst drives me to give back to the university."
- Richard M. Kelleher '73
