Junior - Senior Requirements
For students majoring in Accounting & Information Systems, the program beyond the core course area requires one business law course, two courses in financial reporting, and at least four other Accounting courses (at least two of which must be from three specifically indicated areas.) The minimum number of Accounting courses required for a major are eight (or twenty-four credit hours).
The 24-hour Accounting Credit Requirement CANNOT be satisfied by either of the following:
- Practicum and Internship Credits (398)
OR - Independent Study Credits (396 and 496) earned for such activities as paper grading and lab proctoring.
- Graduation Requirements:
- Complete at least 120 credits.
- Maintain a cumulative average of at least 2.0 in your major and overall.
- Isenberg Breath Requirement:
Students must complete 21 units of coursework outside of the Isenberg School of Management. Courses used to satisfy General Education and Isenberg School requirements may NOT be applied to this requirement. In addition, no more than three (3) units of Economics and/or Res-Econ are allowed.

- To ensure that all graduation requirements are fulfilled. Your degree progress report can be viewed on your SPIRE account. You should meet with your advisor regularly to review your progress toward completing graduation requirements.
- To keep track of the requirements for other minors or majors you are pursuing.
- Additional Information:
- Meeting all of the course requirements for a major in accounting does NOT assure that you also fulfilled the educational requirements for the CPA exam. Please check with, Ronald C. Mannino, Chair of the Accounting & Information Systems Department.
- Required Isenberg School of Management courses and courses in your major may not be taken pass/fail.
- Field experience and independent study cresits cannot be used to satisfy any Isenberg School of Management or major requirement.
