General Education Requirements

  1. Writing: ENGLWRIT 112, College Writing (CW), taken during the freshman year, and completion of the Junior Writing requirement
  2. Social World: Six courses distributed as follows and bearing the indicated letter designation:
    One course in Arts/Literature (AL)
    One course in Arts/Liberal Arts (AT) or a second course in Literature (AL)
    One course in Historical Studies (HS)
    Two courses in Social & Behavioral Sciences (SB) (ECON 103 and ECON 104)
    One additional course (beyond the above requirements) in any of the areas within the Social World (AL, AT, HS, SB), or an Interdisciplinary course.
  3. Two Diversity Courses: These may be courses which also fulfill other General Education requirements, and bear both the letter designations (ALD, ATD, HSD, SBD, or ID), or one or both Diversity courses may have only a Diversity designation (D).
  4. Biological and Physical World: Three courses, one of which must be a Biological Science course (BS), and one of which must be a Physical Science course (PS). The third may be either BS, PS or I course.
  5. Basic Mathematics & Analytical Reasoning: One Basic Math Skills course (R1), or exemption from the requirement by a sufficiently high score on the Mathematics Placement Exam or the Basic Math Skills Exemption Test; and one Analytic Reasoning course (R2).

The Freshman-Sophomore requirements for Accounting majors are the same as the requirements for all School of Management majors. They are as follows:

    - Satisfaction of the Tier I requirement by exemption exam or by a Tier I course
    - MATH 127 (Calculus)
    - STATISTC 141 (Quantitative Concepts for Mgt.)
    - FINOPMGT 250 (Quantitative Tools for Mgt.)

  3. ACCOUNTG 222
  4. MANAGMNT 260
  5. SCH-MGMT 210
