MSA SummerPlus Program

Beginning in 2010, we will introduce a new format for our Master of Science in Accounting Program.  The course and module offerings of the new program will consist of (1) a set of four three-credit courses and six one-credit modules (comprising a total of 18 credits) to be offered in-residence on the Amherst campus, in a highly intensive, twelve-week summer session, plus (2) six three-credit courses (comprising 18 credits) to be offered online during the traditional fall and spring semesters.

In total, 30 credits must be earned to complete the degree. Students will be required to complete the four three-credit courses offered during the summer session (totaling twelve credits), and to earn an additional eighteen (18) credits from the remaining courses and modules offered by the program. Under the new format, the MSA degree could be completed in as few as seven months (summer session plus fall semester), but students may choose a less accelerated timeframe.

In addition, students are eligible to complete up to six graduate credits (from the online course offerings) prior to entering the MSA program. These credits will be transferable onto your MSA graduate transcript, should you be accepted into the program. Please note that for these graduate credits to be eligible for transfer to a graduate transcript, they cannot have been used to fulfill any requirement for any other degree. Please note also that the Masters of Accountancy Program is administered by the University's Division of Continuing Education. Students will be required to register, and pay for, the graduate credits through the registrar's office of the Division of Continuing Education.
