Anthony C. Jordan '96

Anthony "Tony" Jordan is a partner in the Boston office of StoneTurn Group, an independent dispute consulting firm that specializes in business and employment litigation, forensic accounting, forensic technology, and intellectual property matters. At StoneTurn, Tony specializes in forensic accounting investigations, issues surrounding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and general business-related disputes. A certified public accountant, he has provided financial consulting advice to clients for over twelve years.

  

    Tony's investigations on behalf of boards of directors and senior management have included analysis of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting matters, involving revenue recognition matters, and accounting for promotional marketing allowances, derivative transactions, and stock options. He has also investigated  adequacy of reserves, inventory manipulations, and other GAAP-related issues. In addition, Tony has participated in litigation matters involving purchase price disputes, valuations, the preparation and analysis of damage claims, the investigation of employee improprieties and defalcations, and royalty audits.

  

    Before joining StoneTurn, Tony was the Accounting Branch Chief in the SEC's Boston District Office, where he oversaw and performed investigations into violations of the securities laws relating to accounting and financial fraud. Prior to joining the SEC, Tony worked in the dispute practices of Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche, and participated in audits of companies in a variety of industries while at Ernst & Young.

 

    In 2006, the SEC honored Tony with its Andrew Barr Award, presented annually to an SEC staff accountant who displays outstanding accounting ability, analysis, critical judgment, creativity, and dedication to public service and the SEC. In 2002, the Isenberg School's accounting department named Tony as its Young Alumnus of the Year.  Tony lives in Fitchburg with his wife Kristine and their two children.
