Accounting Alumnus of the Year: Jason R. Janoff ’93

Jason R. Janoff

The Isenberg School alumnus is an audit partner with fifteen years of experience with Ernst & Young’s Retail, Consumer Products Practice in New England. For the past ten years, Jason has led E&Y’s audit efforts for the area’s largest multinational SEC registrants. He has extensive experience with SEC reporting requirements, related registration requirements, and in a variety of complex accounting areas, including consolidation, purchase accounting, restructuring, stock compensation, leasing and revenue recognition. In addition, Jason is actively involved in his client’s M&A/due diligence efforts. He is also the area’s stock compensation specialist, assisting engagement teams on stock compensation matters. Outside of his client service responsibilities, he is the firm’s representative for the Boston Chapter of Financial Executives International and is the partner in charge of all campus recruiting and related diversity initiatives in New England.

Prior to his current role, Jason was part of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneurial Services Group, which focused on startup and emerging growth companies and their initial public offerings.

Jason’s clients include CVS Caremark, Linens ‘n Things, Beacon Roofing Supply, Casual Male Retail Group, ZOLL Medical, Global Insight, VistaPrint and Mall Networks. Prior to his promotion to Partner, his previous clients included Staples and Boston Scientific.

Jason earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1993, where he currently serves as a member of the Isenberg School’s Accounting Advisory Council. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Massachusetts Society of CPAs.

Jason resides in Wayland, MA with his wife, Stefanie and children, Alexander and Samantha.
