In early 2014 the Berthiaume Center for Entrepreneurship at the Isenberg School of Management was established thanks to the generous financial support of Diana and Doug Berthiaume.
The center's mission is to promote entrepreneurship and innovation across the UMass Amherst Campus and throughout the region and state. Moving forward, the center will serve as the central hub of a cross-campus network of scholars, innovators, and entrepreneurs, with a three-fold mission of supporting education, practice, and research, all targeted at facilitating the transformation of ideas into business realities.
As we enter the 2014/15 academic year we have designed an exciting array of programs and events worthy of the Berthiaume's vision and confidence.
- We're focused on providing students with a wide range of classroom and experiential learning opportunities, all designed to develop the mindset and skills underlying successful entrepreneurship.
- We emphasize connecting theory with practice, in order to provide necessary resources in support of new venture creation and growth, both on campus and beyond.
- We are actively involved across campus, working collaboratively to advance multi-disciplinary funded research on innovation and entrepreneurship.
This is just the beginning. Throughout the year, and indeed over the coming years, we will be continuously building relationships and capabilities all targeted at best practice, and the goal of becoming a world-class academic center in the area of entrepreneurship. We hope you'll return often to see our progress and more importantly, get involved!
