Admissions Overview

Admission to the Part-Time MBA Program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management is based on several criteria: Academic history, aptitude for graduate-level work, GMAT performance, motivation, and managerial experience are all taken into consideration. No one academic or professional background is favored in the selection of candidates.

Admission to the Part-Time MBA Program is made throughout the year. Applications must be submitted directly to the Graduate Admissions Office by;

July 1 - for fall admission
December 1 - for spring admission
May 1 - for summer admission.


Applications must include:

  • Completed Graduate School application including a personal statement. Please specify Part-Time MBA (Part-Time MBA and the relevant venue)
  • GMAT score (Only applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a GMAT waiver). The average GMAT score in the Part-Time MBA program is currently 550
  • Transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, two official copies of each required
  • Two recommendations, Professional preferred
  • Resume
  • For international applicants only, a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 600 or greater.

Start Now - Take 2 Courses Before Applying

As a non-degree student (not yet formally accepted in the program), you can take up to 6 credits (typically 2 courses) in the Part-Time MBA Program. Once formally accepted, courses taken within 3 years of acceptance that receive a grade of B or better will be transferred to your graduate transcript.
