Graduate Business Association (GBA)

Empowering tomorrow’s top business leaders…today.

The GBA’s mission is to continually invest for the overall interest, growth, and benefit of our stakeholders (students, prospective students, and alumni) through academics, professional development, community investment, and social
experiences.

Founded in 1983, the Graduate Business Association has been the elected student government of the Isenberg Graduate School of Management and is the cornerstone of student life for full-time MBA and MS candidates at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The GBA has had an impressive history of enhancing the academic experience, meeting professional development needs, providing social opportunities for the graduate students, and contributing back to both the Isenberg community and the larger community in which we live, work, and play.

We enhance the academic experience by providing liaisons between the students and professors and work with the administration on electives offered.

We also provide real world professional development including trips to local and regional businesses, inviting speakers to UMass, and creating networking opportunities.

We recognize it is important to give back to our community. Every year we offer our services and continually seek ways to participate in the efforts of local charities, and annually raise funds for the Isenberg School of Management.

A primary purpose of the GBA is to enrich the lives of the students we serve, including bridging 1st and 2nd year MBA students. The relationships built in business school can last a lifetime. We work to create opportunities to grow these relationships in social settings, including Thursday Night Outs (TNOs), the semi-annual GBA Golf Scramble, and our holiday and spring parties.

The Graduate Business Association: for the students, by the students.
