First Year

Students participate in the core curriculum (36 credits) designed to provide a rigorous foundation in a wide range of business topics and skills. The core takes place over four terms, each lasting approximately 6.5 weeks.

Additionally, the Professional Development Seminar takes place over the four terms. This course covers traditional job seeking skills, improvisational workshops, negotiation training, and other life-long skills with a holistic approach to the students' long-term career success.

Second Year

At Isenberg we have a flexible program design with one or two year residency options to best meet your career objectives.  Students explore their academic interests through advanced coursework, pursuing their area of focus with electives at Isenberg or throughout the UMass Amherst campus. They can also craft their own approved independent study to fully customize their academic focus.

During the spring semester, in addition to taking 1-2 elective courses, students are immersed in an experiential learning-based practicum project (6 credits) with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. These projects allow students to apply their business knowledge and solve complex issues with a group of colleagues.

Degree Requirements

The Isenberg Full-time MBA degree requires completion of a minimum of 55 credits. Students must also maintain a 3.0 grade point average throughout the life of the program.

Practicum Project

Practicum is a semester long consulting project with both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. These projects give MBA students the opportunity to apply their business knowledge and solve complex issues with a group of their colleagues.
