Support the Campaign for Isenberg Leadership and the Thomas O'Brien Endowed Chair
Building on a Foundation of Giving
A decade of pathbreaking giving by Isenberg alumni has brought national stature to the Isenberg School of Management. Those graduates have laid the groundwork for a new generation of support that will elevate the School to a new level of national competitiveness.
In 1997, a $6 million gift from Eugene '50 and Ronnie Isenberg sparked a groundswell of alumni support that has transformed the School's image and its physical facilities through the $16 million Harold Alfond Management Center. At the same time, the Isenbergs' interdisciplinary scholarship program and their creation of an endowed chair have galvanized the School's commitment to the integration of management, science, and technology.
The Harold Alfond Management Center
The Isenberg chair is one of six endowed faculty positions at the School provided by alumni. These include a chair in entrepreneurship (funded by John Flavin '59), and professorships in operations management (Jack Smith '60), business leadership (Charles Nirenberg '46), and finance (Michael Philipp '82 MBA). The School's most recent professorship, which honors accounting professor Richard H. Simpson is the collective gift of hundreds of alumni. (View Annual Report Simpson Tribute Page in PDF.)
Many of these alumni, like the Isenbergs, have given to multiple initiatives at the School. John Flavin has created scholarships for MBA students and funded a state-of-the-art auditorium in his family's name. Michael Philipp has given critical support to CISDM, the School's world class alternative investments research center. Jack Smith has supported the School's Virtual Center for Supernetworks.
Other alumni have made pivotal gifts with future impact. Support from Douglas Berthiaume '71 will give the School's next dean critical flexibility to investing in programs and people. And substantial seed money from Paul Carney '82 will spark the School's future campaign to build a new classroom wing.
